Frequently asked questions
How often should I service my bike?
It all depends on how often your bike gets used and how you use it. We recommend having your bike serviced yearly to ensure the best riding experience. Of course, if you’re packing on the miles or spending a lot of time on the trail, your may needs may require multiple services. Remember, it’s better to practice good preventative maintenance rather than run into a ride-ruining failure on the path that will lead to a costly repair.
Why is bike maintenance important?
Like a car that needs an annual APK (MOT), the maintenance of your bike is essential. Good care keeps your bike parts in good condition, so wear and tear can be limited. In addition, in some situations, it is essential that you can prove that you have had your bike regularly serviced so that the warranty remains valid, as the manufacturer’s warranty can expire if a defect is caused by insufficient or incorrect maintenance.
What type of bikes do you repair?
We repair all types of bikes, including mountain bikes, road bikes and city bikes.
What are the most common problems for a bike?
Punctures, a rubbing brake, jumping gears and snapped chain are common problems.
How do I know what kind of service I need?
Whenever a customer brings in a bicycle for service, a certified mechanicer will put your bike on the stand and go over it with you. We will ask you if you are having any specific problems with the bike, as well as other questions such as, ”Where do you do most of your riding?” so we can get a better idea of how the bike will be used. This helps us make recommendations for you, so you get the most out of that new tire, chain, or other components.
What types of parts do you use for repairs?
We use high-quality parts from trusted brands to ensure that your bike runs smoothly and reliably.
How long does a bike service take?
We strive to provide the highest possible quality of service while keeping the waiting time as short as possible. We have realized that many of you are okay with leaving the bike with us for a couple of days, and others would like to get the bike back as soon as possible. Therefore, we strive to repair a bike in a week.
Do I need to make an appointment?
We recommend making an appointment to ensure that we can provide the necessary attention to your bike. However, we also accept walk-ins
Can I stop by with my bike?
You can always come by during our opening hours, but we recommend that you call us before arriving. We are a small start-up. That means that we might not always be at the shop.
How much does it cost to repair my bike?
That depends on what type of service you need. We can tell you that whenever you bring your bike in, we will look at the problem and inform you about what the service will cost. We always let the customer know the prices before repairing the bike.
